'MURICA: NEW ORLEANS, LA

NoLa is probably the weirdest place I've ever been to this year (weird--like the good kind of weird). It actually reminds me of Paris because of the old buildings along Rue Canal and The French Quarter. We spent our first day exploring NoLa. I was really giddy since most of the places we went to were featured in Disney's 'The Princess and The Frog' (Like the Nachez steam boat, St. Louis Cathedral and the Swamp).
New Orleans has a lot of Voodoo shops. They're really into black magic. They also have weird tours like the Ghost tour where they take you to Marie Laveau 's tomb (she's probably related to Maria Labo of Iloilo -- HAHAHAHA. Laugh.), the 'Haunted Swamp tour' and the 'Vampire tour'. Mom really wanted to join the Ghost tour but dad said no. The old streets of NoLa is also filled with magicians and performers (like in Princess and the Frog). It was also 'Lemonade day' and 'Jazz Fest' when we went there.
We went to Cafe du Monde and ate the best beignets in town (beignets are French donuts and are best served with coffee -- Like in the Movie -- WATCH THE MOVIE!!!). We went to St. Louis Cathedral for mass since it was a Sunday.
We went to Rue Bourbon, the Original 'Sin Street'. I prefer Bourbon as a restaurant... not as a sin street.
We had our Swamp tour the following day. We saw alligators and seagulls. I even found two new friends, Hopper and Marshmallow Bob. DYK? Alligators love marshmallows because they're attracted to the colour white (Hey Bea L., alligators love you ...bc you're white HAHA).
Baby gators are harmless but they still creep me out.
We just had to visit Leah's Praline/Candy store. They sell the tastiest pralines in New Orleans. We also had lunch at Cafe Pontalba near Jackson Square where they served the best Creole cuisine.
Of course, we just had to drop by Cafe du Monde again. Their beignets are so addicting!
