The Coldplay Experience

Hello there, readers! I'm so happy to be writing again *real tears*. Well, I don't know if you've been watching the news or have been active on social media  lately but, I guess you're quite aware that Coldplay just had their A Head Full of Dreams (AHFOD) tour HERE in the Philippines last April 4. Yes,earthlings, Coldplay performed in Manila for the very first time just a week ago and I was lucky enough to be a part of that experience. So here I am, holding back the fangirl tears and writing about the best night of my life. Brace yourselves, this is going to be a long one (This is me apologizing in advance for potentially boring you: I'm sorry). Might as well grab some snacks before scrolling (or not).

Let me start with a short flashback. I remember the day when a 7-second GIF changed my life completely (chos). It was the night of November 14 when Coldplay posted a GIF , like they usually would, as a teaser for their 2017 tour dates all over their social media accounts. I was praying that I'd see the PH flag or something similar that signalled a nearing concert in my home country. Lo and behold, a silhouette of the Philippine islands popped up in a split-second as I watched the GIF roll. I FREAKED. My initial reaction was--I don't know-- a mixture of a lot of things. My Facebook account exploded with notifications  from my friends telling me about it.

I have prepared myself for this so well. I knew exactly what to do next... sleep. HAHAHA yes-- just because it was a school day. On a serious note, though, I have prayed so hard for this moment to finally happen. Ever since they announced a possible tour early in 2016, I've been including the concert in my prayers (I think I mentioned this here) and I've already mentioned this to my parents before they even announced the Asian leg.

Friday of the same week, a certain cellular network company that sponsored the concert had a promo for its subscribers. The catch: a reservation code for two tickets of your choice. Of course, I just had to get a hold of those tickets. So yeah, I got help from my dearest friends (and batchmates) to get the code for me (thank you, guys!). We texted at exactly 9:00 in the morning  (secretly -- not so, anymore -- in class) for those dang codes. TA-DAH! No codes. HUHU I don't know what happened. Twenty phones = zero codes. Apparently, the whole nation was texting. I had an emotional ride back home.

Two days later, as I was scrolling through tweets that tagged #GlobeColdplay and saw people taking selfies with their tickets, my dad received an unexpected phone call. It was my cousin. He said he had  an extra code for two tickets. My dad got the code from him and went to the mall for the ticket. My prayers have been answered and I can't thank everyone who helped me enough.

After 14 billion false alarms and hoax posters, I finally had the concert of my dreams.

April 4 -- My sister and I had an early flight going to Manila. We arrived there around 11:30 in the morning and went to MOA for lunch. I was freaking out since I actually thought Coldplay was doing their soundcheck... turns out MOA was simply playing their hit singles to set the mood. Oops.

We left to change our clothes and went to the venue at around 2:45 pm. I rushed to the merch booth so I could get my hands on that shirt I've been eyeing. Unfortunately, the sizes left started at large. Oh well. As we were lining up, I heard someone saying "Hello hello" on the microphone... with an accent. Then they started singing God Put A Smile Upon Your Face. Yes! It was an actual soundcheck from the band. I TRIED to keep calm... but I couldn't.

My sister and her "friend" (lel) lined up and I tagged along (we had different tickets). As I was waiting for my companions (I have no idea how to address them HAHA), I heard Ink being played out of nowhere. BHAM! Another sound check :((

We (the three of us--my companions) started lining up on the other side of the venue. We stood there for 2 hours. The gates opened at 5 pm and we went inside after being checked by the security. They gave us love buttons--I got the purple one (which Chris usually wears), ID lanyards and Xylobands (zomg) as we entered the concert grounds.

So basically, Xylobands are wristbands that light up to the beat of the music. Nothing special. JUST KIDDING!!! They are special and I think you should read more about them here. They make every Coldplay concert even more ~*magical*~.

We were so overwhelmed when we saw the stage and all. We were a bit early so, we found a very good spot which was *quite* near the stage and the ramp. We tried not to leave our spot but then I got thirsty, so yeah. I left the both of them for a short while and returned to my place with no harm at all. They got thirsty too but, they weren't able to return to their spot because of the icy stares they've been receiving from the people around us. They stayed a few meters away from me throughout the concert. It was aight, though.

I was technically alone the whole time. I just stood there staring at the screen in front of me that reminded me that "Your wristband will automatically light up". I've been standing for 5 hours already, waiting for Jess Kent (the supporting act) to start. I didn't feel tired or anything at all, though. I was too excited to feel any discomfort haha! *I endured the pain, you guys*

Five minutes before 8, the lights went off.  Everyone started screaming, myself included. I kept hearing people murmur "Sino nga ba si Jess Kent?" One person even made a pun saying she "Jess Kent wait to be king." Witty! When Coldplay announced that Jess Kent was going to be the supporting act here in the PH, I started listening to her songs so I  could familiarize myself to her tunes and sing along.

Jess Kent was so cool! She seemed sweet too. She kept on saying "salamat" awww.  Her songs are bomb. You guys should check out her EP here. My favorites include Get Down, Sweet Spot and Trolls. I really enjoyed her act. It lasted for 30 minutes.

After Jess Kent, the lights went on again. The Coldplay roadies started coming on stage. They did sound checks, technical work and started setting up the instruments. I swear I spotted Jonny's guitar tech (fangirled a bit). It was really awesome witnessing their concert prep.

Ten minutes before 9, Opera music started playing. O Mio Babbino Caro, to be specific.  It confused the hell out of everyone but me. You see, I've stumbled upon an article that mentioned that Coldplay usually plays some sort of classical music to signify that they're ready to hit the stage. It's sort of like a hint. When that song played, I sat on the ground. Why? Because I was tired. I've been standing for about 6 hours now and I needed to conserve my energy for the show. I stood up 5 minutes before the show which, I guess, was just the right time to stand up since the lights went off.

A clip started rolling. It was some fans from the previous concerts sending their love from one country to another. The clip included a count down. When it was down to "1", two fans from the Philippines started talking. They were introducing the band in Filipino. After their introduction, our Xylobands lit up. I looked around me and I saw red lights flickering. It looked so magical. While the Xylobands worked their magic, an excerpt of Charlie Chaplin's speech from The Great Dictator started playing. The flower of life symbol started forming on the screens which made me even more excited. Nearing the end of the speech, I saw silhouettes of people on stage. I knew that it was them. I started tearing up a bit (A BIT!)

The lights turned on and I saw Guy Berryman right in front of my eyes. I couldn't believe it. Then they started playing AHFOD. It was crazy! The band was just a few meters away from me. All I could remember from that moment was myself tearing up while screaming at the top of my lungs. My hands were shaking. I tried to grasp the idea that Coldplay, my favorite band, is right in front of me. I was in disbelief.

But this was only up until I saw Chris Martin sprinting right before my eyes. It was glorious! Confetti started popping out of the cannons while Chris was dancing around. Ahhhh!!! What a way to start a great night.

A Head Full Dreams: oh I think I landed
where there are miracles at work
when you got me open-handed
when you got me lost for words

The lights turned off after Jonny's last notes yet the crowd did not stop screaming. I think I screamed the loudest. When Chris started playing the guitar, I knew what was coming next.  Our Xylobands flashed again, this time in yellow. Well guess what? Their hit single "Yellow" was up next. I sang every line without missing a beat. I was out of tune, yep, but heck! I didn't care. I sang my heart out. I remember everybody singing, all a choir. I loved it when everybody sang the part that went : "You know I love you so" all together. Tagos, bes.

I could remember yelling "Jonny!!! Huhuhu... Jonny!!!" during his riffs. Can't help it. When the song ended, Chris kept on strumming his guitar while saying "Magandang gabi sa inyong lahat." It was a bit funny hahaha and adorable at the same time. He also asked the crowd to make the loudest noise we could ever make. That bit ended there.  I have a video of it posted on my Facebook account.

Yellow: Your skin
Oh yeah, your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
You know, you know I love you so
You know I love you so

Before the concert was announced, I would usually spend my time watching AHFOD concerts from other countries. Because of that, I knew that the song Every Teardrop is A Waterfall would play after Yellow. Chris started the song by saying "Sing yoooo!!! Sing eeeyoooo!!!" The crowd was game. I like how Chris danced throughout the song. His dance moves are very -eh- expressive. Hahaha!!!

I was excited about this song since they would usually raise the country's flag when they sing the part that goes: So you can hurt, hurt me bad. But still I'll raise the flag. To be honest, I was expecting Chris to raise the Philippine flag. Well, he didn't. But! He did have the LOVE flag, and that's just as great! They also projected the Philippine flag on the screen, so that's okay. When the song was nearing its end, the concert ground rained with neon bird confetti. Huhuhu they looked so pretty. I actually caught some and kept them for myself ehehe.

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall: I'd rather be a comma than a full stop

After the band played such an energetic song, it was then replaced with such an emotional tune. It was the Coldplay classic, The Scientist. Okay. How do I say this? I put my phone down during this song. You see, I promised myself to enjoy some parts of the concert without the distraction of my mobile. I figured that The Scientist was the perfect song to do this. Let me just say this, it was a beautiful bit. I sang along with 35,000 people and felt every single line from that song. It was such a great experience. Yes, I teared up a bit. But they were happy tears! I still can't believe that I really heard it live. I only put my phone up when Chris asked the crowd to sing the chorus once more. I guess he also enjoyed hearing the choir sing.
The Scientist: Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard
I'm going back to the start
Birds  was up next. I love this song. It's such an underrated song from their current album. It's a work of art, really (duh, all Coldplay songs are). I was ready to sing along. To my surprise, it seemed like I was the only one really singing during this song. I noticed how most of the people in our area put their phones down. I guess they weren't that familiar with the song or maybe they were tired of filming. Nonetheless, I enjoyed myself.

I got a clear shot of Birds with no mobile phones obstructing my view. With lesser people singing along, I heard every little detail of the song. Guy's bass playing was hmmm 👌🏻 it was so clear :(( I want to hear it again. I also can't help but notice how beautiful the flower drape was (their backdrop).

Birds: in this world so cruel
I think you’re so cool

After Birds, Paradise was next. It's one of their most famous songs, which is why everybody went crazy again. Seriously though, this song gets you pumped up. That  moment when Guy dropped the bass so low was when I felt so high (if that makes sense). Everything felt so right. The Xylobands flashed in different colors, Jonny's guitar playing was on point, Guy was on fire, Will never missed a beat and sang the backing vocals beautifully, and Chris? Chris couldn't keep still while playing the piano. I knew exactly why. The crowd was great!!! We all sang the whole song and we never wanted it to end. OH GOSH!  It was indeed para-para-paradise.

Paradise: And so lying underneath those stormy skies
She'd say, "oh, ohohohoh I know the sun must set to rise"

Just when I thought things couldn't get any better, they played the Paradise remix. I'm not a fan of remixes but boy was the Paradise one catchy. I'm actually playing it in my head right now. I filmed the whole remix bit because Jonny was killing it. He was so into it. I was yelling his name the whole time. Haha! Who doesn't love some awesome guitar playing? Chris joined Jonny and played the electric guitar as well. Now both of them were jumping up and down. They even ,sort of, had a dance-off. Real #Buckin (Buckland-Martin) moment right there. The remix ended with Jonny, Chris and Guy facing Will.

The band moved from the A-stage (main stage) to the B-stage (the circle end of the ramp) for some of their songs. They were all very sweet. They greeted the fans along the way to the B-stage. Huhuhu precious.

The first song they played in the B-stage was Always in My head which was from the Ghost Stories album. It was a pretty short song. Chris borrowed a fan's phone during this bit and took a video of the band up close. Woah, man. Woah.

Always In My Head: This I guess is to tell you
You're chosen out from the rest

When Chris said that their next song was Magic,  I got super excited. I knew that they removed Magic from their previous setlists in the other countries and I thought they wouldn't play it here. Turns out they did! I was so happy. Magic is such a lovely song. Guy's bass intro is just 😍. Chris was bouncing all throughout the song... by that I mean like dancing kind of bouncing. I sang along, though I was out of tune... again. Oh man, what a treat!

Magic: And if you were to ask me
After all that we've been through
Still believe in magic?
Yes, I do
Of course I do

While the rest of the band went back to the A-stage, Chris stayed for the next song. Before playing their next song, he explained why it took them so long to perform in the Philippines. Apparently, they've "waited until they had enough good songs to be played" in our country. Haha! He also apologized for keeping us waiting. Awww, how sweet.

The next song they played was Everglow which is from their current album. I opted to put my phone down for this song since it emitted the same vibe that The Scientist had. I took one photo, though. Chris went solo on this one with a bit of Jonny in the end. Everglow was beautiful. In fact, it's one of my favorite tracks from the latest album. Listening to it live was different. A good kind of different.

Everglow: like a lion you ran,  a goddess you rolled
like an eagle you circled, in perfect purple

Upon reaching the A-stage, a very familiar piano riff started playing. This was accompanied by lasers. It was Clocks!!! Ahhh Clocks!!! It's a hit song from their second studio album. I love this song so much. My brother knows how to play this on the drums and I play it on the piano too. It's a masterpiece, I tell you. The lasers are quite special too. It's been a Coldplay tradition to have lasers during this song. Truly a Coldplay classic.

Clocks:  Confusion never stops
Closing walls and ticking clocks
Gonna come back and take you home
I could not stop that you now know, singing

Their next song was Midnight. I got goosebumps as it started but then this was replaced by curiosity. All I could think about that time was one tweet that I read. It said that somewhere during Midnight, Chris is changing his shirt. So yeah, that made me think the whole time. That was that.

Midnight: Leave a light a light on

After midnight, all the lights went off and our Xylobands started to light up again. This time, it was in different colors. I looked around me and told myself "This is it!" It's the song I've been wanting to hear (and dance to) live!!! Chris started telling everyone to put their phones down for one song... I didn't :))) I HAD TO FILM MY FAVORITE PART!!!!! Then he said that he wanted to see "hands! hands! hands!" Charlie Brown, everybody!!!!! (no chill) Only my favorite song from the MX album (my mom loves it too!)

As we were all raising our hands, the iconic guitar riff started playing huhuhuhuhu. It felt so amazing. I didn't know how to react so all I did was mouth "ohmygod ohmygod". Then the beat dropped HOLLLYYY--- Chris kept saying "jump jump jump" so we all did. I felt like the happiest person on earth that time. I sang and danced like nobody was watching. I was having the time of my life. (just thinking about that moment makes me want to do it again)

Ahhhh I'm lost for words. It was like how I imagined that moment to be. I remember singing the line that went "All the boys, all the girls, all that matters in the world. All the boys, all the girls, all the madness that occurs"  as loud as I could. Gaaah!!! At one point of the song, Chris kept telling us to "Jump higher and higher and higher!!!" Man, I think I jumped the highest. As the song was about to end, I internally yelled "nooooooo!!!" It was such a crazy experience. All I could say is that Charlie Brown was LIT! (LIT-erally) The song ended with a beautiful piano solo from Chris. Haaaay again please! (This time, with mom beside me hehehe)

                                                                            Charlie Brown: So we'll soar
                                                                                   Luminous and wired
We'll be glowing in the dark

After the piano solo, I heard birds chirping in the background. It was Hymn For the Weekend.  Yes, Coldplay's "first ever party music" HAHAHAHA! When the song started, I couldn't help but notice how cute Guy and Jonny were while playing the drum pad. They looked so serious... awww.

Hymn for the Weekend was so full of energy. Chris was having the time of his life and so did we! He was dancing very...um... weirdly. It was weird and wonderful. Hahaha he shaked his booty like there was no tomorrow.

You go, Chris!!! Wooooooo!!!!

Chris went all-out during Hymn For the Weekend. He was so near the crowd (yaaay!!!). He would look at them in the eyes and would try to interact with them. Barricade people are so lucky.

The song ended beautifully with a pop of rainbow confetti, like that of AHFOD. It was so ~magical~ (overused word- haha). It was accompanied by Beyoncé's tape singing "that I shoot across the sky." Chris was laying down on the ramp near us when the song ended. Guess he got tired from all that booty shaking business.

Hymn for the Weekend: put your wings on me, on me
when I was so heavy
poured on a symphony
when I’m low low low low

While Chris was just chilling on the ground and the cloud of confetti started to clear up, a familiar tune started. Chris started singing the words "When you try your best but you don't succeed", while still laying on his back. It was Fix You, my go-to feel better song. I filmed the first 42 (this is a special number) seconds of the song but put my phone down after that. I wanted to be in the moment because this song means a lot to me. Just remembering this part of the concert still gives me goosebumps. It felt great to cry (cheesy, I know). I loved how everyone in the crowd sang along the whole time. It sounded 10000 times better. The part after the second chorus was a surreal moment (just before the tears stream down on your face part). Everybody sounded wonderful during that part. I could hear the bass, the guitar and the drums very clearly. I also couldn't help but be amazed by the band's four part harmony. It was accompanied by some pyro and it made the experience even more special. Our Xylobands were on full-swing as well. I felt real tears streaming down my face. I will always come back to this experience.

Fix You: Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

After that emotional ride, they had a spotlight on Jonny while he was playing a guitar intro to the song Heroes by another legend, the late David Bowie. Funny, I've been watching his movie Labyrinth for the past month. Okay, out of the topic. Anyway, the band played this as a tribute to David Bowie, Prince and George Michael. I personally like their cover of Heroes and I thought it was catchy. I sang along hahaha I liked it!

Jonny and Chris were very adorable at the first part of the song. You could even see Jonny looking all *kilig* when Chris sang "I, I could be king. And you, *pats Jonny* you could be queen" haha! No doubt, their friendship is really something special #BuckinIsReal

Heroes: I, I will be King

And you, you will be Queen

Though nothing will drive them away
We can be heroes just for one day

I freaked out when I heard the iconic violin riff of Viva La Vida. I was screaming at the top of my lungs! This song is my number 1 Coldplay song. This song converted me into a Coldplayer. 'Twas a very nostalgic moment right there. Everybody was doing the wooo-aaaah chant and it felt so great to join in. Will lead the group in the chanting part. You're the best, Will!

When Chris started singing, I sang along. I was singing my heart out and I heard my voice crack a couple of times. I'm pretty sure the people around me heard it too but, for all I care! I was singing along to my favorite song... LIVE!!! Oh man, what a treat! Chris was dancing and just making up new moves. The crowd was very energetic and LOUD!

The whole band was on fire!!! Props to Will Champion for never missing a beat on the drums and the bell. You go, Will! He even sang the backing vocals with no fuss at all. Truly a Champion ;)

Chris asked everyone to jump and do the Viva chant nearing the end. He was jumping all around as well! I gave my all during that woooo-aaaah chant. I've always wanted to do that during the concert. Dream. Come. True. I LOVE YOU, @Coldplay!!! (Oh wait...this isn't twitter)

Chris ended the song on the B-stage and chilled on the floor again. I think he was  exhausted after that hopping and dancing.

Viva La Vida: the whole song, really.

After that exhausting/exciting bit... A smooth transition leading to Jonny's INCREDIBLE guitar riff from the song Adventure of A Lifetime happened. Then suddenly, out of nowhere... these colorful balloons went bouncing all around. These aren't your average balloons, no sir. These were HUGE and had LED lights in 'em. I was getting preoccupied playing with Coldplay's balls  balloons (oops), that I forgot how awesome AOAL was.

Jonny's riff was on point, no doubt about that. It was catchy and made the whole song on fire. Guy's bass playing was on point and -- I don't know why but I'm very particular when it comes to hearing the bass. Bass lines are usually overlooked but, not for me. I think they're just as important as anything else ! I must say, the bass line in AOAL is one the best from Coldplay. Good job, Guy! Will , of course, was being his awesome self on the drums. The song was great and the whole band was impeccable! This is probably one of their best songs played live.

Well Chris? Chris was enjoying the balloons as well. The people near the barricade would purposely make the balloons get near Chris so he could kick them HAHAHA. The concert ground looked like a giant playground... for very old children hahaha. There was even one point in the song where Chris asked everybody to go low... so we all did. Then he counted up to three... then we jumped. It was so much fun. The crowd must've enjoyed it a lot because everyone responded with a loud "woohoo" when Chris was singing "woohoo" at the end of the song. It was such an overwhelming production with the colorful balloons, Xylobands and the song itself. Coldplay was very #extra.

Adventure of A Lifetime:  and if we’ve only got this life
in this adventure oh then I
want to share it with you

The band moved to the C-stage which was in the Platinum area to play some of their old-time hits. Songs played in the C-stage were mostly acoustic versions. The first song they played there was In My Place, which is another Coldplay classic from the album that brought The Scientist and Clocks. Will played the keyboard and sang the backing vocals again. This man never fails to surprise me. The crowd sang the "Yeah" part with Will and it sounded great.

In My Place: Sing it please, please, please
Come back and sing to me
To me, me

After that, Chris started strumming his guitar and introduced the band. I remember him saying that their next song is from their first album and that we're very lucky because (Chris said)
"Our beautiful drummer, Mr. Will Champion is going to sing it for you, and is accompanied by our gorgeous guitarist Mr. Jonny Buckland, and Mr. Guy Berryman is just going to play the bass and be a sex monster. Woah!...  I'm just joking haha!"

Hahaha I still can't believe Chris Martin just said that. I love it when he gushes over his best friends. But yeah, everything he said was true. Coldplay is a beautiful bunch. Some people might disagree with me when I say that they're "gorgeous" but in my defense, men get beautiful with age. Okay, so their next song was Don't Panic and as a response to that, I PANICKED. Hahaha! I love that song! I play it all the time on my turntable. I love it because Jonny sings in it a bit and to me, that's just precious. I also love his guitar riff in the song. Yaass. I loved it even more now because Will sang the song. He has such a beautiful voice. It gives me a Passenger (the singer) vibe. When Jonny started singing, I went full-on fangirl. Hahaha also when he played the riff.

Don't Panic: And we live in a beautiful world
Yeah we do, yeah we do
We live in a beautiful world

The next song was a fan request from a very special fan. I don't know if you guys have read an article about Chris Martin visiting Ken Santiago, a sick Coldplay fan. What Chris did was really sweet and I felt so happy for him. Ken requested Ink to be played which was an amazing choice. It rarely gets played live and it's an underrated Ghost Story song. Thank you for the request, Ken! (You KEN do it!)

They played the acoustic version of Ink and I think this is the best version of the song. I recorded the entire of Ink because it's one of my top 5 songs (hihi). I don't know why some people don't like it that much. It's a masterpiece both lyric-wise and melody-wise. Such a great song to sing along to.

Ink: All I know
Is that I'm lost
In your fire below
All I know
Is that I love you so
So much that it hurts

As the rest of the band went back to the main stage, Chris stayed behind for an impromptu song. [Funny story, while the rest of the band was making their way to the A-stage, I yelled "I love you, Jonny!" loud enough so he could hear it. Yes... I did that. No regrets. ]  He composed a song (on the spot) for the Philippines and it was adorable. Check it out here. " We've been touring "A Head Full of Dreams"
Now we've made it to the Philippines

After that wonderful song (haha!) Chris strut his way to the A-stage for their next song: Something Just Like This. I don't know about you, but I'm not a huge fan of The Chainsmokers. When they've just recently released this song, I was a bit skeptical about it. I listened to it and it was "okay". I wanted more of that Coldplay touch (more instrument playing). I was surprised that they put this song on the setlist and replaced Amazing Day for this. I was waiting for that Buckin moment during Amazing Day *sighs*. Nonetheless, it was okay.  Actually, they proved me wrong. SJLT was actually really good... especially with the band playing most of the parts (Sorry, Chainsmokers fans). And heck! If the band loves it, so should I.  It was a cool song and had confetti in the end. That's a thumbs up from me!

Actually, SJLT fits in well! It was a great transition to -my mom's 2nd favorite Coldplay song- A Sky Full of Stars! The whole production of this song left me speechless. I was dancing (more like jumping up and down) the whole time! The Xylobands looked like stars, by the way.

A lot was going on. Chris was doing his crazy dance moves again and was running all over the place. He even jumped so high when the beat dropped. Woah! At the end of the song, star confetti filled the sky - sky full of stars indeed! I caught some of them and put them in my pocket (and saved them for a rainy day... teehee!). I even got the rare shiny star. But anyway. ASFOS was awesome and I'm glad I got everything on tape.

A Sky Full Of Stars: Cause you're a sky you're a sky full of stars
Such a heavenly view
You're such a heavenly view

Now this is the part where it gets sad. When the intro of Up&Up played, everyone in the crowd went "awwww" audibly. We all knew that this was their finale. It was a very emotional finale, to be honest. The song itself was very powerful. I didn't film the whole song but I did film Jonny's guitar solo which was very very very beautiful.

I also filmed the part where Chris sent his message of love to all their Filipino fans. He even made a promise by saying that "Based on tonight, I promise you we'll come back and I hope you'll have us back again". YES, CHRIS!!! COME BACK!!! They finished the song by asking everyone to give them our loudest noise and become one big band. Their last line which was the powerful phrase "Believe in love" was accompanied by some fireworks.

Up & Up:  see each sunrise as a gift
---
when you’re in pain
when you think you’ve had enough
don’t ever give up

The band applauded at the audience and went to the corners of the main stage to say goodbye. They made their way down to the B-stage for their final bow.

The crowd was yelling "We want more!" the whole time which was true. We did want another round of some Coldplay magic. When they went back to the A-stage for their exit, I yelled "Jonny!!!" for one last time. I like to believe that he smiled at me because it seemed like he was looking at my direction. I have a clip of it here. True or not, I'm a Jonny convert.

It's sad that nights like this have to end. This is my very first concert and I'm so happy that I got to experience it. Seeing my favorite band perform my favorite songs up close is truly a dream come true. Indeed there is something special about hearing the songs you've been  listening to on your iPod, being played in front of you. I've never felt so emotionally exhausted before. It felt like a great time to be alive. I sang, danced, laughed and cried in a span of two hours and I'm proud to say that. It's been tough for me to get over this experience especially since I've been preparing for this for months (even years) and it just seemed to have gone by that quick. I can't help but go over the videos of the concert every now and then. And yes, I still get goosebumps. I even made a Spotify playlist of the concert and posted a video of the highlights on my YouTube account for me to cope. I guess I could say that I still have that post-concert blues. Needless to say, April 4 2017 will always be a special day for me. That night will always be the best night of my life. I hope and pray to see them again here in the Philippines or anywhere else in the world.

Thank you, Coldplay!

I hear you laugh I heard you sing
I wouldn't change a single thing
For you I've waited all these years.
